The Excess 11 is a compact cruising catamaran designed by VPLP and built by Excess Catamarans, Groupe Beneteau's performance-oriented multihull brand, in France from 2021. Aimed squarely at sailors who want catamaran space without sacrificing sailing feel, the Excess 11 offers a sub-40-foot length, lightweight hull form, tall fractional rig (with an optional Pulse Line taller rig), and helm stations positioned aft for direct connection to the wheel. At just over 200 hulls produced within a few years of launch, she quickly became one of the most successful small cruising cats on the market, winning Cruising World's "Overall Boat of the Year 2021" and SAIL Magazine's "Best Boat 2021." The Excess 11 has become a regular ARC and ARC+ entry.
